Manado or Menado is the capital of North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia, and estimated to have been resided since XVI century and was call "WENANG". Later, in 1623 the name was changed into "MANADO". Formerly known as"CELEBES" by the Duch. Manado is located on the shores of natural curve of Manado Bay and is surraunded by a mountains area. The culture of the people in Manado has been mixed one. Urbanization of people from Minahasa,Bolaang Mongondow,Sangihe Talaud, and Gorontalo was resulted mixed population and cultural. Manado is famed as a member of the "SPICE ISLAND" of colonial times, it still exports large amounts of cloves, vanilla and other spices.

Nestled amongst lush surrounding, the town is filled with restaurant, shops, bustling markets, and places of worship. The best view of Manado is complemented with the almost perfect volcanic cone "MANADO TUA" rising dramatically from the sea . Manado is a key tourist transit point for visitor. Ecotourism is the biggest attraction in Manado. Scuba diving, snorkeling, adventure and tours, are the first choice. Bunaken is the chief attraction of manado. North Sulawesi for divers and non-divers alike. With splended under water views and much of the best coral just under the surface, the sea gardens are eassily accessible to snorklers. Non-divers can still enjoy the beauty of these under sea garden, by snorkeling or just viewing the under water marine life from glass-bottom boats. Bunaken can be reached by speed boat or motorised outriger in about 30 minuts from Manado.

Itinerary :

After breakfast at hotel, we will pick up and start the MANADO CITY TOUR. Manado offers a variety of terrain with hills, volcanic mountains and scenic plateaus. It is estimated that Manado was inhabited in the 16th century and was called "Wenang". Later, in 1623 the name was changed to "Manado". Influenced by the foreign occupation, the culture reflects the outside influence. Urbanization of the people from Sangihe Talaud, Bolaang Mongondow, Gorontalo and Minahasa has resulted in a diverse population and culture. First we will visit, WOLTER MONGINSIDI & PIERRE TENDEAN MONUMENT a monument to commemorate the meritorious young men from North Sulawesi, Wolter Monginsidi and Pierre Tendean. Wolter Monginsidi died during the struggle of Indonesian Independence and Pierre Tendean died in the so-called "communist rebellion" on September 30, 1965. Situated on the waterfront, facing. the Bay of Manado, it is usually crowded with people who want to relax while enjoying the beautiful panoramic view of the bay. The monument is located in Bahu at the intersection of Jl. Monginsidi and Pierre Tendean. After that, we continued the trip and will passing away of Boulevard (shopping centre) and also going to PASAR 45, traditional market in Manado. After that, we will visit to BAN HIN KIONG TEMPLE, this 19th century temple, the oldest in east Indonesia, is the worship place of Chinese Buddhist believers. The temple is located on Jl. Panjaitan in the center of the city. During Toa Peh Kong each February, a traditional Chinese parade dating from the 14th century is held. We will visit also a SECOND WORLD WAR MEMORIAL, a memorial to commemorate the destruction of Manado which was heavily bombed and to honor the victims of World War II. It is located in the center of Manado next to Gereja Sentrum (City Center Church). Also visit MUSEUM NEGERI PROPINSI SULAWESI UTARA this Provincial Museum offers visitors and students alike, information about art, culture and history. It includes displays of the four ethnic groups inhabiting North Sulawesi, as well as the Batak Tribe (West Sumatra), Lombok, Bali, Central Sulawesi and Irian Jaya. Historical artifacts from the Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Swedish can also be seen. It is located on Jl. W.R. Supratman, Manado. After that we will back to hotel
