Tangkoko Tour 4D 3N

The Tangkoko-Duasudara nature preserve lies on the northemmost tip of the northempeninsula of Sulawesi, within the administrative province of Sulawesi Utara (North Sulawesi) at about 40km, or two hours driving from Manado. Although named as one the Tangkoko-Duasudara nature preserve is actually two adjoining preserves. The Tangkoko Batuangus Nature Reserve (4,446ha) was established in 1919 by Dutch colonial rule and was extended by the addition of the Duasudara Nature Reserve (4,299ha) in 1978. Total land area of both preserves, including the Batuputih and Batuangus tourism areas is 8,745 ha.

Bitung - Tangkoko wilderness not only save unique exotic animals, such as tarsius (Tarsius spectrum) and Yaki monkey (Macaca nigra), but also inhabited a variety of beautiful birds. Some of them, can only be found in the Sulawesi region. This place is becoming one of many interesting place for foreign tourists who have a hobby to see birds. Many types of birds can be seen in Tangkoko nature reserve, such as: Julang Sulawesi, on the type of character there is a prominent male: red horns, old, head, neck and chest bungalan red-rust. While the female, head and neck is black and the yellow horns are smaller, Ducula aenea (pergam green), hair-crest srigunting (Dicrurus hottentottus), woodpecker, malkoha and the red jalak tunggir. Srigunting crest-hair and red jalak tunggir including birds, are most easily found in the Tangkoko forest. Special to Srigunting-hair crest, this bird have a special characteristic that is easily identified with the black length shiny tail and resonant rough voice. Tangkoko is a good place to observe bird behavior such as king prawns. Exotic birds easily found here because Tangkoko is the center of king prawns in the South. Group of birds known as king prawns are identical with the water, but some type of king prawn in Tangkoko live in the forest far from water.

The itinerary :

Day 1 : The guide will meet and assist you in Sam Ratulangi airport and transfer to hotel for check-in. Free program.

Day 2 : After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and start the BUNAKEN SIGHTSEEING TOUR. We will travel by motor canoe to Bunaken island. After we arrive at Bunaken, with glass bottom boat we explore the beautiful sea garden in the world with fantastic coral reefs as well as colorful marine lifes. After that, pax will snorkeling (optional) in the snorkeling spot at Bunaken National Marine Park. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant in Bunaken. After that, return to Manado and experience the traditional food (snack) like Gohu, etc. (optional) Then, we will drop for a while to winangun area to see the 2nd highest statue in the world. Back to the hotel. Free program.

Day 3 : After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to north Minahasa (on the way to Bitung) to visit Waruga in Sawangan. Waruga is a stone grave (sarcophagi), of Minahasan people, dating from the megalithic age are extremely interesting. 144 stone grave were built to house the remain in the sitting position. The pre-christian believe was that the babies were born in the sitting position in the mother's womb, and it is in the position that human must pass on to eternity. After that, continue the trip. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant. And then we go to Bitung to visit Tangkoko Nature Reserve. Located at the bottom of Duasudara mountain, the area is comprised of rolling hils and valey with the variety of hardwood trees and unusual plant life. The animal life is also quite varied, and one can often viewedis Tarsius Spectrum (world's smallest primate & only habitat in North Sulawesi, Indonesia), also we can see the black tailess monkeys, Maleo birds, wild pigs and kuskus (marsupial family. Tangkoko Batuangus reserve offers a suitable protective environtment to help prevent this animals from becoming extinct. With local guide (ranger) and your guide will walking and have a look at the jungle. After that return to hotel. Free program.
